This ten-color lithograph, measuring 26 by 21 inches, was hand proofed and printed at Atelier Ettinger in May of 1976. The edition consists of 320 impressions on papier d'Arches. 200 were numbered and 60 artist proofs were signed in pencil by Norman Rockwell. An additional 35 impressions were pencil signed and designated with roman numerals, and 25 deluxe edition proofs were printed on Inomachi Nacre (Japon) paper. Rejected Suitor was originally use for the October 2, 1926 Saturday Evening Post cover. Years later, Rockwell stated that "Adolescents are a lot of fun, and they have great possibilities. They can be humorous or very serious or very romantic-sometimes all of these things at the same time. Everyone except themselves is amused by them and for this reason, if for no other, adolescent boys and girls are fine picture material." -Norman Rockwell from Rockwell on Rockwell
