Norman Rockwell (1894 -1978) Family Tree, 1959 Cover illustration for The Saturday Evening Post (October 24, 1959) Media print collotype on paper.

This limited edition color collotype print entitled Family Tree measures 25 x 19 inches and is hand signed by Norman Rockwell in pit pen in the lower right. The print is in excellent condition with vibrant color and detail. In 1959, Rockwell began telling his life story to his son Tom Rockwell, who was ghostwriting his autobiography, Norman Rockwell: My Adventures as an Illustrator. Recording his family history may have inspired Rockwell to create Family Tree. He loved the idea of having the "all American" boy descend from a pirate and his stolen Spanish Princess. "Everybody, " he said, "had a horse thief or two in his family."

The purchase of any limited edition Norman Rockwell print is accompanied by an Authenticity Certificate signed by our Museum Director, a complimentary one-year Museum family membership, and care and handling instructions for the print. Payment plans are available. All limited edition print purchases contribute directly to the Norman Rockwell Museum to preserve and present the art and legacy of Norman Rockwell.
