A classic Holgate toy first introduced in 1948. Toddlers will enjoy hours of stringing and stacking these jumbo lacing beads. Large size helps tiny fingers develop manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Set includes 9 beads in bright, nontoxic colors and 28" cord. Beads are 2" tall and 1-1/2" dia. Selected by Parents Magazine as Best Toy. Ages 18 mos. - 4yrs. Holgate's early toy designer was Jarvis Rockwell (pictured above), brother of Norman Rockwell who visited the Holgate factory on several occations. Jarvis Rockwell's concern for saftey, durability and educational play earned him recognition as America's premier toy designer during this period. Today, Holgate is recognized as the premier maker of children's wooden toys.
