Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) Gaily Sharing Vintage Times/Tea Time/Winter from the Four Ages of Love calendar illustration series for Brown and Bigelow, 1955. 11" x 14" inch offset print on heavy cardstock paper, hand signed in permanent ink by Norman Rockwell.

The Four Ages of Love were originally used for the 1955 Brown and Bigelow Four Seasons calendar. When creating a calendar Rockwell "tried to make the poses of the people, as well as their action, symbolic of the season they represented. The frosty pep of the winter scene is repeated in the poses and actions of the figures; the spring scene is one of life and promise and the figures carry out the same idea of languor and warmth; the qualities emphasized in the poses of the figures for summer and autumn show the quiet and reflective manner of these seasons." -Norman Rockwell from Rockwell on Rockwell

Not only does this calendar reveal the nature of each of the four seasons, but it also represents the stages of love, from the budding of a new romance in springtime to courting to the reflective nature of a middle-aged couple, and finally, to the wisdom of old age.

The purchase of any limited edition Norman Rockwell prints is accompanied by an Authenticity Certificate signed by our Museum Director, a complimentary one-year Museum family membership, and care and handling instructions for the print. Payment plans are available. All hand signed reproduction print purchases contribute directly to the Norman Rockwell Museum to preserve and present the art and legacy of Norman Rockwell.
