This limited edition single color offset print entitled Girl in Front of Mirror measures 25" ½ x 19" ½ inches and is an image of a young girl admiring herself dressed up in mother's clothes. The print was hand signed by Norman Rockwell in ink at the bottom. The print is in excellent condition and has not been conserved. Because Rockwell presented an essentially idealistic view of American life, his appeal has remained constant throughout the years. This appeal seems to be derived from the familiar believable traits of each of the artist's characters and the nostalgic mood of their settings. In Rockwell's own words, "Without thinking too much about it in specific terms, I was showing the America I knew and observed to others who might not have noticed." Norman Rockwell's Girl in Front of Mirror illustration was originally created for the American Family Life series for the Mass. Mutual Insurance Company. Rockwell's 80 black and white pencils drawings first appeared as national consumer advertisements sponsored by the Massachusetts Mutual Company during the 1950s and early 1960s.

The purchase of any limited edition Norman Rockwell prints is accompanied by an Authenticity Certificate signed by our Museum Director, a complimentary one-year Museum family membership, and care and handling instructions for the print. Payment plans are available. All hand signed reproduction print purchases contribute directly to the Norman Rockwell Museum to preserve and present the art and legacy of Norman Rockwell.
