Details
Collapsible umbrella and matching sleeve adorned with J. Howard Miller's 1943 Rosie the Riveter "We Can Do It!" poster illustration for Westinghouse for the War Production Co-Ordinating Committee.

Pittsburg graphic artist J. Howard Miller created this illustration for display in Westinghouse's industrial facilities for a two-week period in February 1943. One of a series on in-house motivational images, her upraised fist would have been meaningful to the original Westinghouse viewers, since a similar gesture was used as a symbol of solidarity in the corporation's labor force.

Diameter measures 38" inches. Auto-open, auto-close, 100% polyester with rubberized handle.

Inspired by the exhibition American Stories: Revolution to Rockwell on view June 6, 2026 through October 26, 2026 at Norman Rockwell Museum.
