Tony Sarg Petticoat Row, 1929. Unframed print on paper measures 25" x 24.5" inches, image dimensions 21.5" x 20.25" inches.
Sarg painted and drew many Nantucket landmarks, including the Bon Ton Fish Market, which still stands today on Cambridge Street, as well as the Pacific Club, the Old Curiosity Shop, and the Tony Sarg Shop, his seasonal emporium. Petticoat Row, seen here, was the group of once predominantly women-owned and run shops on Center Street.
