Norman Rockwell (1894 to 1978) The Golden Rule. Saturday Evening Post cover April 1, 1961. 35" x 29" color collotype on paper, hand signed in pencil by Norman Rockwell. Edition 57/200.

This is a limited edition print. 295 prints of this kind were produced. A set of 200 were numbered; another set of 35 were numbered with Roman numerals. A set of 60 were unnumbered. All of the prints produced were signed in graphite by Norman Rockwell. A group of people of different religions, races and ethnicity served as the backdrop for the inscription "Do Unto Other As You Would Have Them Do Unto You." Rockwell was a compassionate man, and this simple phrase reflected his philosophy.

"I'd been reading up on comparative religion. The thing is that all major religions have the Golden Rule in Common. 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' Not always the same words but the same meaning."
- Norman Rockwell
