Saturday Evening Post cover April 16, 1955. Color Collotype numbered 23/200 measures 32" x 28" and is personally signed by the artist. "Rockwell's studies show that he was initially inspired by Frans Hals' dour Dutch matrons. Using his wife Mary as the model, Rockwell began a lengthy process of photography and sketching. Over time, as the character evolved, Hals gave way to Rubens, and the hausfrau became a flirt. In all, he developed twenty preparatory drawings and oil sketches for the portrait of the lady before he was satisfied that he had captured the subtle humor of her expression."

The purchase of any limited edition Norman Rockwell print is accompanied by an authenticity certificate signed by our museum director. Purchases come with museum membership and care and handling instructions for the print. Payments may be made through our interest free 10 month layaway plan. All artist proof purchases contribute directly to the museum endowment. Please ask for more assistance.
