A robot, with a light bulb on top of its head, sits imitating Rodin's sculpture, 'Thinker.' R. O. Blechman has contributed 14 covers to The New Yorker, and remains an acclaimed illustrator, animator, and author. Elected to The New York Art Directors Hall of Fame, The Museum of Modern Art held a retrospective of his animated films in 2003. The National Cartoonists Society gave Blechman a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. Two years later his work was given a retrospective exhibition R.O. Blechman: The Inquiring Line: at The Norman Rockwell Museum.
