Inspired by Franklin Delano Roosevelt's 1941 Sate of the Union address outlining four basic freedoms essential to all people, Norman Rockwell painted a series of indelible images that stand among our nation's most significant icons: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Worship, Freedom from Want, and Freedom from Fear: Rockwell's Four Freedoms appeared in four consecutive issues of The Saturday Evening Post from February 20 to March 13, 1943, brining Roosevelt's democratic ideals to life for millions of Americans.
