Spring Flowers, Rockwell's only known still life painting, was inspired by his wife, Molly, and her love of gardening and flowers. Even though there are no human figures in the painting, it certainly includes a human presence. Through his rendering of the scene, Rockwell has produced a powerful protrait of a woman in touch with nature through the medium of her garden.
