It was a challenge for Rockwell to constantly dream up new and unique cover illustrations. He often looked for inspiration in his previous works and tried to bring new light to old ideas. When describing his August 24, 1940 Post cover, Back from Camp, he wrote "This picture gave me the idea for an April Fool conver containing dozens of Props-all of them wrong. Common everyday objects compose the props in this picture. Perhaps there are too many of them but they all help tell the story of the little girl getting home from camp." -Norman Rockwell from Rockwell on Rockwell
